SUMMARY:Transit Hub Guidebook Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Transit Hub Guidebook Workshop… \nEvent date: 6/6/2019 8:30 AM \nEvent Summary: Revitalizing areas around transit stations can help connect a community’s businesses\, public spaces\, residential areas and public transportation resources. But taking on such a project can be a major challenge. The Together North Jersey (TNJ) Efficient Task Force\, the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA) and Rutgers University’s Voorhees Transportation Center (VTC) have developed a new resource to help communities interested in creating a vibrant transit hub. \nEvent Details: The Guidebook for Developing Transit Hub Strategic Plans is an engaging and easy to follow guide that makes sense of the often complicated transit hub planning process. It includes best practices from projects that have been implemented across the nation\, as well as knowledge from developers\, community officials and other experts with direct experience in planning for and constructing transit hubs. \nThis workshop will also showcase the exciting work of the 2018 Transit Hub Pilot Program\, which created strategic plans for the City of Passaic\, Bloomfield Township\, and the Borough of Dunellen in northern New Jersey. These plans were developed by the TNJ Efficient Task Force and volunteers from the Community Planning Assistance Program (CPAP) of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Planning Association. The pilot communities delved into various land use and mobility improvements in their plans and the lessons they learned were incorporated into the guidebook. \nPlease join us as we explore how you can use The Guidebook for Developing Transit Hub Strategic Plans to improve your community. \nPLEASE CLICK HERE TO RSVP https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-transit-hub-guidebook-workshop-tickets-61096240500 \nPROGRAM OUTLINE \n8:30 to 9:00 Registration\n9:00 to 9:15 Welcoming Remarks\n9:15 to 9:30 Introducing the Transit Hub Guidebook\n9:30 to 10:15 Overview of Guidebook\n10:15 to 10:30 Break\n10:30 to 11:15 The Three Pilot Projects\n11:15 to 12:30 Q&A/Panel Discussion \nEvent Location: NJTPA\nOne Newark Center (1085 Raymond Blvd.)\n17th Floor\nNewark\, NJ \nMore Information https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-transit-hub-guidebook-workshop-tickets-61096240500
