SUMMARY:Pavement Resiliency - Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Pavement Resiliency – Tech Transfer Webinar\nMonday\, October 16\, 2023 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM \nREGISTER HERE https://rowan.webex.com/webappng/sites/rowan/meeting/register/1fb6b3ad14894245b74ba80a06ac641d?ticket=4832534b0000000622732b3e16cbf2741c4208d19e82641ac6fca3f993fe1171ef5d8d8b60292735&timestamp=1694540641588&RGID=r7fe84ecd3e606af8eb9078759066bcc7 \nAccording to Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Order 5520\, resilience or resiliency is the ability to anticipate\, prepare for\, and adapt to changing conditions and withstand\, respond to\, and recover rapidly from disruptions. Climate change and extreme weather events present significant and growing risks to the safety\, reliability\, effectiveness\, and sustainability of the Nation’s transportation infrastructure. Climate stressor items that impact pavement systems include temperature\, precipitation\, droughts\, floods\, wildfires\, arctic changes\, and sea level rise. The resilience of transportation infrastructure to climate change impacts has taken on a new urgency as agencies strive for a more sustainable transportation system. The following topics will be addressed in this webinar: \n * Climate change and its impact on pavement infrastructure.\n * Resilience concepts as applied to pavements.\n * Recent pavement resilience research and case studies. \nAll attendees will earn 3 Professional Development Hours for this webinar.
