SUMMARY:Integrating GHG Emissions into Planning
DESCRIPTION:Integrating GHG Emissions into Planning Webinar #3 – Developing GHG Baseline Inventories\, Forecasts and Analyzing GHG Reduction Strategies\nThe next Integrating Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions into the Planning Process Webinar is scheduled for July 9\, 2024\, from 2:00-3:30 p.m. ET. To register for the webinar\, please use the following link: \nhttps://usdot.zoomgov.com/webinar/register/WN_Uvhkw8CqSK6aE-ucrsh5cg https://usdot.zoomgov.com/webinar/register/WN_Uvhkw8CqSK6aE-ucrsh5cg#/registration \nWhat will this webinar cover? \nEstablishing a baseline for GHG emissions is an important step for transportation agencies to determine their contribution to total emissions in their state or region. Forecasting those emissions into the future and comparing different transportation scenarios further empowers planners to integrate GHG emissions into their planning decision-making. \nThis webinar will cover information related to why and how to perform such analyses; including information about forecasting emissions for future years and comparing scenarios for differences in emissions. The webinar will feature three presentations on the topic from: \n * Catherine Duffy – ICF \n * Jim Ponticello – Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) \n * Kathy Luther – Northwest Indiana Regional Planning Commission (NIRPC)

SUMMARY:Using Data to Effectively Tell Your Community’s Story (DOT Navigator Two-Part Webinar Series) - Part 1
DESCRIPTION:USDOT is hosting a two-part webinar series to help potential DOT grant applicants effectively tell their community’s story in the planning\, project development\, and/or grant application process.\nPart 1 of the webinar series (July 22) will focus on how to identify and describe a project and its goals\, identify users of the infrastructure or system\, and determine the project’s impact area. Participants will receive step-by-step information and recommendations\, and presenters will use examples to illustrate each of the concepts. The webinar will conclude with a brief Q&A session. The webinar will be recorded and posted on the DOT Navigator. \nPart 2 of the webinar series (August 15) will introduce participants to DOT’s Equitable Transportation Community (ETC) Explorer tool and provide detailed information on how to use the tool to map a project area\, identify how a community is experiencing disadvantage\, and evaluate how project benefits may address the community’s disadvantage. This information will build on the content presented during Part 1 of the webinar series. Participants are encouraged to register for both or review the Part 1 materials before attending Part 2. \nRegister HERE https://usdot.zoomgov.com/webinar/register/WN_0TFZUsgcSJC7_UOuBwO13w#/registration

SUMMARY:The Evolution of Knowledge Management at Airports
DESCRIPTION:TRB Webinar: The Evolution of Knowledge Management at Airports\nIndustry-wide\, airports are experiencing disruptive and continuous changes that include the rapid introduction of new technology\, financial constraints\, retirements\, and the need to replace seasoned veterans. These changes are compounded by a diminishing pipeline of individuals interested in working at airports. While the term “knowledge management” is not in widespread use at airports\, many are already applying techniques\, such as documenting standard operating procedures or conducting after-action reviews following airport disruptions. Knowledge management (KM) is a well-established discipline for creating\, capturing\, sharing\, and leveraging essential knowledge needed for success. Without tasking these deliberate steps\, airports may face reduced efficiency\, degradation of customer service\, and increased vulnerability to business and operational interruptions. TRB will host a webinar on Wednesday\, July 24\, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM Eastern that will provide practical approaches and solutions that any airport can use to facilitate active and continuous knowledge management. \nThis webinar is based on ACRP Research Report 258: The Evolution of Knowledge Management at Airports https://nap.nationalacademies.org/catalog/27399/the-evolution-of-knowledge-management-at-airports . \nThis webinar is sponsored by TRB’s Airport Cooperative Research Program. \nThere is no fee to attend this webinar. Registration is required.\nA recording will be sent to all registrants after the webinar. \nWebinar agenda and presenters \n * Overview of the report – Frances Harrison\, Spy Pond Partners\n * KM and challenges at airports – Ann Richart\, Washington State Department of Transportation\n * Best practices for continuous KM – Jeanette Saunders\, Airport Minority Advisory Council\n * Question and answer session moderated by Frances Harrison\, Spy Pond Partners \nThe first 60 minutes of the webinar will be for presentations and the final 30 minutes will be reserved for audience questions. \nLearning Objectives\nAt the end of this webinar\, participants will be able to: \n * Mitigate the loss of institutional knowledge using KM when employees change jobs or retire\n * Explore how to prepare for and respond to emerging trends\n * Ensure continuity of operations and how to maximize effectiveness and efficient use of resources \nAmerican Institute of Certified Planners Certification Maintenance Credits\nThis webinar is approved by the American Planning Association (APA) for 1.5 Certification Maintenance (CM) Credits. CM credits provide continuing education opportunities for AICP Certified Planners to continue their professional skills and knowledge. To receive CM credits\, Certified Planners should visit the TRB event webpage on American Planning Association https://www.planning.org/ and register their participation. \nPlease make sure that you register for this session and log in using the link that TRB provides to your email account. We use this as your record that you attended this session. TRB only maintains the records of attendees who use their email address to log into the webinar and cannot verify attendance of individuals who view the webinar without personally logging into the session. \nIf you have problems reporting your CM credits or have general questions about the CM program\, please contact AICPCM@planning.org mailto:AICPCM@planning.org?subject=Question%20about%20reporting%20CM%20credits . \nContinuing Education Units for Accredited Airport Executives\nThe American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) will provide 1 Continuing Education Unit (CEU) to accredited airport executives who attend this webinar. Claim CEUs by visiting http://www.aaae.org/ceu . For questions about AAAE continuing education units\, please contact accreditation@aaae.org mailto:accreditation@aaae.org?subject=Question%20about%20AAE%20CEUs%20for%20the%20TRB%20Webinar . \nPre-registration is required. Once the webinar starts\, you will be unable to register. Individuals that are registered for a webinar but do not receive their confirmation emails due to their organization’s internal firewalls should contact TRB Helpdesk mailto:mytrb@nas.edu?subject=Help%20registering%20for%20TRB%20webinar for assistance in signing in.\nView our FAQ page http://www.trb.org/main/blurbs/182114.aspx for more information. \nRegistration questions?
