Empowering Cities with Data: Partnership Building & Frontier Technologies
How can cities reduce cyclist and pedestrian traffic fatalities? How can streets be better designed for the elderly? How can housing authorities avoid trash overflow onto sidewalks?
Urbanites long for cities that are more walkable, bikeable, and responsive. This event will explore two key tools for realizing these goals: partnership building, and frontier technology. Specifically, a look into Numina’s sensing platform that measures street activity.
How can planning professionals work with this data and budding technology firms? The Downtown Brooklyn Partnership will share on partnerships for the public realm and the Living Labs program.
After the panel discussion, there will be an opportunity for attendees to explore Numina’s data dashboards; including data on public streets, parks and plazas, and trash collection.
This event is hosted by the APA New York Metro Chapter Technology Committee and is eligible for 1 CM credit; however, you do not need to be a Chapter member or urban planner to attend, open to the public.
