Strategic Workforce Development (SWD) is an Every Day Counts-6 initiative which supports the Highway Construction Workforce Partnership (HCWP). In 2016, the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), the American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA), the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and the US Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration (ETA) formed a National Partnership to address the growing workforce problem.

Twenty-six states selected the EDC initiative SWD as an innovation goal, and FHWA is ready to kick-off discussions about this important initiative.

Please join FHWA’s Center for Transportation Workforce Development on Wednesday April 28 at 2:00 EST for a webinar featuring an overview of Strategic Workforce Development and a panel discussion with representatives from South Dakota and Arizona, two states who developed successful HCWPs during the pilot stage.
