Cone penetration tests (CPT) determine the geotechnical properties of soils. TRB will host a webinar on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 from 2:00-3:30 PM Eastern that will identify available CPT sensor modules, tools, and in-situ tests available beyond standard CPT investigations. Presenters will discuss sensors that include seismic and pore-water pressure. They will also highlight case studies that have used non-standard CPT tools to convey these methods’ added value.
1. CPT probe modules for site characterization: Diane Moug, Portland State University
2. Case example of improving field practice: Gerald Verbeek, Eijkelkamp North America
3. Use cases beyond the “typical” application of the CPTu: Diane Moug, Portland State University
4. Question and answer session: Derrick Dasenbrock, Federal Highway Administration
Attendance is free for members of TRB cooperating organizations and Professional Development Hours (PDHs) are offered for attendance.
