The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) will be hosting a webinar “Taking Action to Reduce Rural Roadway Departures Systemically” as part of the EDC-5 initiative “Reducing Rural Roadway Departures” https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/innovation/everydaycounts/edc_5/roadway_departures.cfm . The webinar will focus on why the initiative is important to rural agencies and tribes, and how they can take action to reduce roadway departures.
The following speakers will be featured during the session: Rick Tippett, Trinity County, California, will discuss how the systemic approach is the way to make cost-effective improvements to reduce the likelihood of future crashes and Victor Lund, St. Louis County, Minnesota will discuss how they have used a local road safety plan to guide them in improvements that have reduced crashes on the county system.
