TRB Webinar: Pavement Foundations- Designing for 100 years

May 30, 2024 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

TRB will host a webinar on Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM Eastern to provide real-world examples of enhancing highway resilience and improving long term performance by reducing pavement foundation deformation. Pavement foundation deformation under asphalt or concrete surface layers cause damage at the surface and reduce service life. Extreme weather and seasonal climate change create additional uncertainty, making it difficult to estimate and reduce foundation degradation and deformation for life cycle assessment periods up to 100 years.
This webinar features research from NCHRP Research Report 933: Evaluating Mechanical Properties of Earth Material During Intelligent Compaction https://nap.nationalacademies.org/catalog/25777/evaluating-mechanical-properties-of-earth-material-during-intelligent-compaction and is a continuation of the 2024 TRB Annual Meeting Workshop 1058: Pavement Foundations: 100-Year Design Considerations https://annualmeeting.mytrb.org/OnlineProgramArchive/Details/20707 .

This webinar is sponsored by TRB’s National Cooperative Highway Research Program and the Standing Technical Committees on Mechanics and Drainage of Saturated and Unsaturated Geomaterials, Transportation Earthworks, and Stabilization of Geomaterials and Recycled Materials.

Registration is free for employees of TRB sponsors as well as Titanium and Cobalt Global Affiliates. The registration rate for all other attendees is $100.
